Induction: What to expect when you join us
easyJet is fully committed to ensuring that all staff are provided with the relevant knowledge, skills and experience that enables them to work effectively and develop their expertise and potential. This process starts with an effective Induction.
Induction at easyJet is more than a presentation on your first day (although you get one of those too!). It's about us working together to achieve our vision - to be the best low fares airline in the world - and making it a great place to work along the way.
Induction
Pilot and Cabin Crew Induction
If you are joining easyJet as a Pilot or member of Cabin Crew, your induction will start on Day 1 and continue for the duration of your new entrant/refresher/conversion course.
Your induction experience will continue once you have left training and reach your respective base, where the local base management teams will not only make you feel welcome, but will also work with you to build on the knowledge and skills you acquired during training.
Head Office Induction
You will spend your first month within easyJet taking part in a wide range of activities including, one-to-ones with your team, learning how to use easyJet systems, possible visits to easyJet bases and even a possible 'back to the shop floor' day where you will shadow Pilots and Cabin Crew on one of their 'typical' days.
For the remaining two months you will become more familiar with your job role and will start to work towards delivering the objectives set for you in your Induction period, all with the support of your Line Manager.
You may be assigned a buddy during your induction, who will support you throughout your Induction experience. Not only will they be a friendly face to turn to in your first few weeks, they will also be on hand to answer any questions you have about the way things are done at easyJet.
easyJet Buddies
Buddies play a key factor in the effectiveness of the Induction process. A buddy is likely to be a colleague within the same team who performs the same or a similar job role.
The role of a buddy during the induction process is to:
- Support the new starter during their Induction period
- Be a friendly face in the first few weeks on the job
- Answer day-to-day questions and show how things are done at easyJet
